If you are one of thousands of doll collectors trying to find a July 2004 Breath of Life BabyÂ? by Lee Middleton Original Dolls, you might not want to hold your breath. The highly anticipated collection of lifelike dolls is now sold out to dealers. That means, while some dealers may still have July 2004 Breath of Life Babies for sale at their stores, the dolls can no longer be re-ordered from the company. Lee Middleton Original Dolls management is not surprised by the popularity of Breath of Life Babies. The incredibly lifelike dolls were first introduced at Toy Honest 2004 in New York City to rave reviews and dealers didnÂ?t dissipate any time placing their orders.
Â?Nearly half of the collection was sold before the dolls made their first appearance in our July 2004 catalog,Â? said Mark Putinski, Lee Middleton Original Dolls VP of marketing. Â?Some dealers even placed their orders sight unseen.Â?
Putinski stresses that while Breath of Life Babies may be hard for collectors to find, some retailers will have them available right through the celebration time of year.
Â?It may be challenging to find Breath of Life Babies, but we encourage our customers to visit our website at leemiddleton.com to explore our retailer locator information. They may be able to find the dolls through a uncommon retailer.Â?
One reason why the Breath of Life Babies collection is so well loved is the dollsÂ? brand-new, skin-like vinyl called, New Baby SkinÂ?. This new vinyl gives Breath of Life Babies a soft, dewy texture that isnÂ?t tough or sticky. The Breath of Life Babies also figure realistic rooted hair called Baby FineÂ?. This soft, synthetic hair is rooted by hand and is full in some areas and sparse in other areas, just like a real preemie baby.
Four uncommon styles of Breath of Life Babies are offered in the July 2004 collection. Baby Kathryn features strawberry blonde hair, blue eyes, and a light skin tone. Baby Ellie features brown hair, brown eyes, and a dark skin tone. Baby Nathan features brown hair, closed eyes and a light skin tone. Baby Maries features brown hair, closed eyes, and a medium skin tone. Each doll is sculpted by award-winning artist Reva Schick and retails for $ 140.
While the July 2004 Breath of Life Babies are sold out to dealers, collectors can anticipate the release of more Breath of Life Babies in the January 2005 Lee Middleton Original Dolls catalog.
